You'd think a very experienced attorney running for Superior Court Judge in San Diego would know what a trademark registration symbol means and when it is legal to use it and when not. Check out this candidate's website home page.

There is no registered trademark that I can find for "Law Enforcement's Choice." It does not show up on any search of TESS, the US Patent and Trademark Office's web search service. And yet, this candidate prominently uses that phrase with a registered trademark symbol at the top of his homepage. If that mark is not actually registered, that's a no-no.

The candidate's website says he is "committed to enforcing laws", but this kinda makes one wonder!
